University of Auckland and BeSTGRID has made the ‘front page’ of “International Science Grid Weekly” about our eResearch activities. (I understand this is the first time New Zealand has featured).

BeSTGRID’s first test of cross-site GRID job submission

BeSTGRID conducted a transparent cross-site grid computation from Auckland to Canterbury: from my Auckland Windows Desktop I was able to load my GRID certificate, provide a passphrase, and then have transparently access to the DataGRID (Grid ftp) and computational resources (which currently reside at Canterbury). I ran a MrBayes computation on the GRID and downloaded the results to my desktop.

All of this through nice GUIs and tools courtesy of APAC.
